Bio Science Conference at the Convention Center!

I am excited to say that Maria and I will be attending this Arizona Industry Association conference on October 3rd. Thanks to the recommendation by Dr. Cotter we decided to give this conference a shot, and sure enough, we were accepted got the email confirming our attendance. This will be the first conference we will be attending for the year, so we are going to dedicate some time to practice our presentation and to get more familiar with speaking in front of crowds of people again. I am really excited to be attending this conference and to see what kind of research other people are doing around the valley. It should be a good learning experience for us.

    OMG! Congratulations on getting into the Conference! I'm super excited for both of you to attend! If y'all want to practice your presentation in front of anyone, I'll be in the lab on Friday and definitely don't mind lending my ears! You girls rock!

    I thought you guys did an awesome job relaying the info to me. I'm sure that you'll be amazing. I'm excited to hear about it. When you were talking about it, it sounded like it had the potential to be one of the more fun conferences. Make sure to take good mental notes about the research happening in our area! I wanna hear about that!

But we are waiting on some of our materials to come in the mail so that we can wait on our next phase of the project. As we wait for that I don't know about you but I have been studying for all these midterms going on. It was kind of a relief that the week we ordered supplies and waited that it was midterms week as well, so far I have been doing good. Anyways I cannot wait till our materials come in and we can get begin a new phase in our project.

Goals in Life

  1. What are your professional goals, 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years into the future? What will accomplishing these goals let you do? How will accomplish these goals impact those around you and what will it make possible for those in your community?  I believe that in 10 years from now I will be working in a nice accredited crime laboratory for a while now. I also would love to help out my family and slowly start repaying everything that my parents have done for me. I also would love to be starting a family of my own. Spring Conferences

I have been going to so many conferences for the past two years, that last semester I wanted to take a small break and focus on my transfer to ASU. But I am glad to say that this semester I will be presenting my research at the Arizona/Nevada Conference. At Phoenix College, I work with Dr. Frank Marfai, and our goal this semester and last semester is to introduce undergraduate research to students. We know that it is very hard for students to find time outside of their already busy schedules to find an internship. So what we try to do, is build a CURE inside a statistics class. We have partnered with ADEQ (Arizona Department of Environmental Quality). They kindly share their air and water quality data for our students and they are able to use it to perform statistical tests.
