Senior Year at ASU West

1. Who are you grateful for who has helped you get to where you are today? (What was your situation? how did they help you? How did that help impact you now and how has it led to where you are today? If you have a picture you'd like to share please do so with their permission.)

I am grateful for my family, which includes my dad, mom, and sister. Thanks to them, I can honestly say that I am where I am is because of them. I am a strong believer that support and motivation play a big part in people's success. Of course, many other people who have helped me with my education have been in my shoes and can actually give me advice. For example, my educational career's most influential person has to be my advisor Dr. Robin Cotter. Thanks to her, I have continued my studies and not worry too much about finances and worrying about how I will pay for my next semester. I just think back to when I first started college and how everything was out of pocket, and I was working a full-time job while going to school full-time. Ever since I got into research with WAESO and with TRAIN, I have many people support me. So for that, I am grateful for all the people that I have encountered in my life.

2. Advice that you would give to your younger self? (What were you doing at the time? What was the advice? Why did your younger self need advice? Are there other people who would benefit from this advice?)

If I could tell my younger self some advice, I could tell myself not to stress out too much. I remember when I was a freshman, I wanted to do everything that possible. I remember taking like 5 classes and wanted to join like 4 clubs on campus, and I was also working a full-time job at a hotel as a receptionist. I would tell myself to slow down and to appreciate everything that is happening more because looking back, those were some of the best years at Phoenix College.
